BEYAZ ARMAN

How do you feel when you find yourself dreaming?

For me, dreaming isn’t really a special moment. It’s a natural part of my everyday life. Imagining myself as a mermaid while swimming in the sea is a fun way of turning an ordinary moment into a completely different experience. I have my own world, and Peracas is a reflection of that world. What I create doesn’t necessarily have to be a piece of jewellery. It can also be an object, a situation, a meal or a project. Everything that comes to life at Peracas is a different extension of that imaginary world, a piece that forms part of the whole. One of the things that makes me happiest is knowing that people can find a piece of that world that feels like their own.

Is there a source of inspiration that influences you but doesn’t directly appear in your work?

Nature, art, architecture, stones and colours are the biggest sources of inspiration that directly influence my work. But beneath the surface, what affects me most is how people want to see themselves. I believe an accessory has a transformative power. Even with a very simple piece, the way someone sees themselves, and therefore how they feel, can change. I love that Peracas can come into play at exactly that point. If someone feels a little more magical, a little freer or a little bolder, then we are touching not only their style, but also their spirit. This invisible transformation is one of the things that inspires me most.

Is there something you wish more people would notice, but feel is often overlooked?

That true beauty is about much more than appearance. Especially with the rise of digital culture, beauty is often defined by how we look. But I believe real beauty emerges from a combination of confidence, character, choices and the way a person expresses themselves. I think style is an extension of this too. When the way you carry yourself, what you do and your style all tell the same story, the effect can be incredibly powerful. For me, elegance begins exactly there: in a presence that doesn’t try to attract attention, but is quietly self-assured. I think Peracas represents exactly that. Because what leaves the most lasting impression is often not extravagance, but authenticity.
